Help Us Save Children From Starvation, Homelessness, and Sex Trafficking

No child should be without a home, and yet India is home to over 30% of almost 385 million children living in extreme poverty, the highest in south Asia, according to a new report by World Bank Group and UNICEF.

Visit India and you will see children begging for money on dangerously busy roadways, wandering through the countryside, huddled in railway stations or near temples and durgahs, fishing in trash cans around markets, living under bridges, and more.

Estimates vary wildly on the number of homeless or "street" children in India. Much depends on terms and classifications of the respective studies as well as the scope of and resources behind those studies. One of the problems is that many of the street kids have parents, but poverty or abuse has nevertheless driven them into the streets. Though it's difficult to determine exact numbers, everyone agrees child homelessness and poverty in India constitute a heart-wrenching crisis affecting tens of millions of children.

Homeless or street kids are vulnerable to abuse, disease, crime, and exploitation, including child and sex trafficking.

Orphanages are one of the best ways to rescue these children, protect them, and give them a hope and a future.

Salvation Streams has been helping the poor and needy of India for over 20 years. We've provided food, clothing, health care, and more to those in need. And now we're launching one of our most exciting initiatives - the building of orphanages to rescue, feed, clothe, house, and educate these precious children.

Will you help us?
